The Makai MKU-24D is an all-solid Soprano ukulele made from the Koa wood. This wood is native to Hawaii and means brave, bold fearless or warrior in the Hawaiian language. The sound of the Makai MKU-24D is warm, bright and loud without too much emphasis on either end of the tonal spectrum. What makes the Makai MKU-24D Soprano special is that it is most suited to strumming and chord playing where most people tend to start. Its smaller size makes it easy to hold, easier fretting of big stretches, is perfect for children and easy to carry and store.
Koa is unique and distinct from other woods in two ways, namely grain and color. Koa wood is well known for the variety of grain it has.
