The JH-30 features 6 buttons, 3 functions, 2 tuning mode, 1 bright blue back-lit LCD screen and weighs only 41 grams, which is 1/2 the weight of your Zippo lighter! You can drop it in your pocket or inside any guitar case, and carry it to your studio, rehearsal, concert or anywhere you like.
The JH-30 is easy to use and features these three modes
Tuner: Clip it to the headstock, or any other position you like. Choose either sound or vibration mode. In vibration mode there is a sensitive clip that is essential for tuning in noisy surroundings. It picks up vibrations as opposed to sounds transmitted in the air, so it only detects your noise and no one else. When a note is played, the tuner can automatically identify the note, and its back-lit LCD display will indicate by how much the note is in/out of tune. There is also an LED light that will turn red or green depending on whether the played note is in or out of tune. This is a great way to improve your ear tuning ability.
Metronome: In metronome mode, you select the tempo and rhythm of your music. It will make a beeping sound so you can play your music accordingly.
Tone Generator: It can generate any note from any of the four major scales: C, F, Bb, Eb.
The JH-30 has the option of using a chromatic scale (play any note and it will tell you how in tune it is), or tunes a particular instrument (violin, guitar or bass or guitar). If you use it tune a specific instrument, it names the string you’re currently tuning, i.e. the low E-string on a guitar it calls 6E, while the top E string it calls 1E and so on. You can also tune down without having to figure out what the new notes are called. It can go down 4 flats, which is pretty darn flat.
Along with the guitar tuner, the JH-30 features a metronome and a tone generator. The metronome gives you a choice of up to 9 beats per measure, and a choice of 6 rhythms. The tempo can be adjusted from 30bpm up to 250bpm. The tone generator allows you to switch between a chromatic scale or standard tunings for a guitar, bass or violin. You can also tune A from 440 down to 430 or up to 450 depending on your orchestra.
