The Makai Limited Series
The Makai Limited Series is a collection of uniquely made soprano and concert ukuleles. Each ukulele in this series is custom-made from quality Cedar, Spruce, Marblewood, Maple and Rosewood making each instrument truly special. Spruce is a very close-grained wood that produces a rich, vibrant tone. Marblewood is a high-density wood from South America that has beautiful grain patterns. Cedar is a light to reddish wood used primarily for soundboards and probably makes one of the best sounding ukuleles. Rosewood exists in different colors and textures and is today used manly on fret boards. The sound of a Rosewood body ukulele is sweet and round. Whichever you choose, each of these woods is unique in the beauty and tone they bring to the ukulele and all have that Hawaiian tone you're looking for!
The Makai LK-80R Soprano ukulele has a solid Spruce top back and sides with solid Rosewood back and sides. The Makai LC-80R Concert has the same specs but a larger body and fuller tone. Our Makai concert ukuleles are more popular than ever so we are proud to announce these new models!
